SERVE.
HOST A SERVICE PROJECT
At the heart of You Matter Day are meaningful services projects designed by you and for our community.
Projects are placed into one of five themed stations:
Education Matters – Have students prepare school supply kits, lieracy packs, or tutoring games. Remind everyone that education opens doors and every students can help another succeed.
Health Matters – Bring hands-on projects like packing healthy snack bags, assembling hygience kits, or creating wellness posters. Encourage healthy living and remind us that caring for our physical and emotional health matters.
Innovation Matters – Design creative stations where students design problem-solving prototypes, upcycle materials into new inventions, or share brigh ideas that show how imagination and innovation can shape the future.
Families Matters – Build family activity kits, write thank-you notes to caregivers, or create games and storybooks that celebrate the strength, love and connection of family.
Kindness Matters – Lead acts of care and compassion by crafting cards for seniors, creating kindness rocks, or pledging posiive actions that spread joy and remind us all that kindness is contagious.
Supplies and materials for your projects will be provided by your program or our You Matter Day organizers. Consider asking for donations from local businesses. Ex. Have students write donation request letters to local dentist offices to see if they can contribute supplies for hygiene kits for shelters.
Every project helps meet real community needs whether it’s creating care kits for foster youth, designing painted flower pots for senior citizens, or upcycling gently used clothes. Together, these projects weave a powerful story of compassion and community pride.
