REGISTER A SERVICE PROJECT

Design a meaningful service project with and for students to bring to YMD 2024. Projects don’t need to be elaborate. Past projects included: making fleece blankets for animal shelters, teaching Zumba to help students gain healthier habits, painting flower pots to give to local senior living communities, making Posole soup mixes for families, making art kits for foster youth, and much, much more.

Projects are placed into one of five themed stations:

  • Education Matters – projects focus on promoting new and fun ways to learn

  • Health Matters – projects focus on fostering healthier habits

  • Innovation Matters – projects focus on finding simple solutions to global issues that we also experience here in Fresno County, like access to clean water, cooling stations during heatwaves, and making recycled paper.

  • Family Matters – projects focus on activities that strengthen family connections

  • Kindness Matters – projects focus on how we can show care for ourselves and the people around us.

Supplies and materials for your projects will be provided by your program site or our You Matter Day organizers. You may also want to out to our community to request for donations. For example, have students design a donation request letter to local dentist offices to see if they’d like to contribute supplies for hygiene kits for shelters.

YMD Service Projects are approximately 30 minutes in length.Students rotate through service projects. Service projects happen concurrently. So a lot of good is happening at You Matter Day.

VERY IMPORTANT: Even if you have registered a service project, you still need to RSVP for all of your students and staff that are coming to the event. Please do so on the “Bring Your Students” page.
